Voxy and Google Together on a Mission to Break Down Language Barriers

Voxy e Google

We’re excited to announce that our latest partnership with Google has just gone live! This collaboration is designed to help people unlock new opportunities through language learning.

Achieving proficiency in a new language can be challenging, which is why this feature is intended to complement other learning services and resources, such as personal tutoring, mobile apps, and classes—like those offered on the Voxy platform.

About the new Google Search feature

Learning a new language is tough, and many people struggle because they don’t get enough chances to practice speaking or receive feedback that helps them improve and gain fluency.

To help with this, Google Research recently launched a new feature on Google Search that allows people to practice speaking and sharpen their language skills.

The magic behind this feature comes from a deep learning model called Deep Aligner, developed with the help of the Google Translate team and powered by a multilingual model trained on hundreds of languages.

Here’s how it works: learners get real-life prompts and use a vocabulary word to create their own spoken responses. Each practice session lasts about 3-5 minutes—just enough time to make real progress in small increments.

As learners speak, the system analyzes their responses in real time, offering helpful suggestions and corrections on the spot. It even tells them whether their response fits the context and would make sense to a conversation partner.

This feature blends expert-created content with AI-generated material reviewed by real people. The deep learning model also adjusts the difficulty of the tasks to challenge learners based on their skills, while adapting as they improve, making sure everyone can keep moving forward at their own pace.

How the Voxy and Google partnership came about

When Google needed language learning partners to bring real-life context to their speaking activity, we jumped in to help, providing them with our top-quality, real-life content to make the experience as engaging and effective as possible.

And the results have been incredible—just in the first month, over 188,000 unique users have been introduced to Voxy’s content!

Availability

Right now, Google Search’s English-speaking practice, featuring Voxy’s content, is available to Android users in Argentina, Colombia, India (Hindi), Indonesia, Mexico, and Venezuela who are translating to or from English.

While there’s no set date for a global rollout yet, Google has shared that they’re excited about expanding to more countries and languages in the future. Stay tuned!
