On December 2, the Medellín Tech Fest event was held where the Bilingualism Day was held and in which it was discussed how new technology has influenced and changed the way we now learn new languages.
In this talk, Katharine Nielson, tells us about best practices for online learning as well as trends in e-learning and how Covid accelerated the digital transformation in companies and schools. One of the key questions Katie asks us is how can technology help her learn a language? From the beginning it is important to understand that adults and children learn in different ways, and this language learning is based on 4 tasks that are:
- Input (which consists of examples of the language),
- Output (the opportunities we have to reproduce the language),
- Interaction (talking and interacting with other people), and finally
- Feedback (having constructive criticism to improve).
