The Mets Say 'Adiós' to Omar Minaya
El dominicano no logró que el equipo se destacara
Omar Minaya's executive career was very brief. The Dominican-born executive, who was hired in 2004 to change the direction of the New York Mets, got the pink slip this week in a much-anticipated shake-up of the ball club.
The problem? Despite having a big fat budget, the team has failed to deliver the wins like their neighbors at Yankee Stadium.
Minaya was almost in tears when he talked to reporters about his dismissal. But let's not feel too bad for him yet. He still has two years and $2.1 million left on his contract, so we're sure he'll find the time and resources to get himself a new gig.
